Interesting developments in Australia's fight against the poisonous, very invasive cane toad. It carries venomous glands on it's back and has killed an enormous amount of our wildlife.
But Nature is evolving - birds are learning how to flip them onto their backs and attack them underneath, some snakes and other creatures are becoming immune to the venom and it seems as if our local rats are into the act. For the last two mornings something (and we presume it could possibly be a large white-tailed rat, of which there are many in the rainforest) has left us a 'present' of a huge cane toad with it's head chewed completely off!!! Yuck with the clean-up - but good news for our wildlife!
