Daintree Valley Haven is a pleasant 100 km (60 mile) drive north of Cairns airport along the Great Barrier Reef Drive, one of Australia's most scenic coastal highways

There is very little public transport so it is essential to have your own vehicle to reach the property.  

We are very easy to find - when you arrive in tiny Daintree Village simply follow the blue Daintree Valley Haven signs for 8km (5 miles) along winding Stewart Creek Road through the beautiful Stewart Creek Valley with it's rainforest, past lush rolling cattle pastures below a deep green backdrop of forested hillsides.  

Stewart Creek Road, from Daintree Village, is unsealed but is well-maintained and suitable for normal cars.  Some car rental companies have restrictions on unsealed roads - among those which don't have restrictions are Avis and Budget, which we recommend.  

Approximate driving times from Daintree Valley Haven to places of interest are:

• Daintree Village - 10-15 mins

• Daintree River Ferry - 20-25 mins

• Cape Tribulation - approx 60-90 mins

• Mossman and Mossman Gorge - 40-50 mins

• Port Douglas - 60 mins

• Cairns Airport - 90 mins
